Vistempo privacy policy

Updated on September 11, 2026. This is the same text as Sources/VistempoCore/Privacidade.swift, which the apps show in Settings, translated in Localizacao/VistempoCore.xcstrings; changing one means changing the others, and the // --- privacidade e metricas block of Checks compares all three.

Your data stays on your devices and, when enabled, in your Apple iCloud account. No Vistempo account, no developer-operated server, no ads, no tracking.

What Vistempo keeps

Your focus sessions, chosen and actual durations, categories and goals, intentions, duration guesses, if-then plans, pauses, extensions, distractions, closing reasons, ratings, notes, marked dates and settings. On the Mac, the app can also record which apps were in the foreground during focus: app names and duration, never window contents. These records support your history, statistics and reports. Optional features can be switched off in Settings; switching them off does not erase earlier records.

Where it lives

Your history is stored locally or in the folder selected in Settings. With iCloud Drive enabled, the app uses its own iCloud folder to share documents between your devices. Internal sync files and copies of settings also exist outside the visible Documents folder. Vistempo does not operate a server or receive these files. Apple provides iCloud under its own terms and privacy policy.

How your Mac and your iPhone talk to each other

Nearby devices exchange encrypted messages over Bluetooth and the local network. When the private iCloud channel is enabled, the app also saves the latest session state, category list and custom closing-reason chips in your private CloudKit database, including session times, intention, category, if-then plan, pause and extension state, category goals, and the labels and suggestions you write for those chips. Text you enter in these fields is part of the message. The full history and PDF reports are not sent through this channel. CloudKit encrypts these fields on the device before upload. This storage belongs to your Apple account and uses your iCloud quota; the developer cannot read its contents. Turning the channel off stops its use, but does not delete previously stored records. Bluetooth, local network and folder sync remain available according to your settings and permissions.

What Vistempo does not do

Vistempo sends no usage analytics to the developer, uses no advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not sell your data. Your timed activity is recorded for you, not for a developer profile. Apple services used for sync and purchases process data under Apple's policies.

Nothing is measured inside the app

Vistempo has no internal analytics or event reporting. Apple may provide App Store Connect and TestFlight statistics and diagnostics under its own sharing rules. If you join a beta, information you provide as a tester, feedback and screenshots may be visible to the developer through TestFlight. The intended App Store privacy declaration is Data Not Collected because the app does not transmit personal data for the developer to access; it does not mean that Apple's services process no data.

The diary that stays on the device

When the link between the Mac and the iPhone or the lock screen counter goes wrong, the app writes a few technical lines to a file on the device: the time, what connected, what the system answered. Never a key, never what you wrote, never the content of a session. The file keeps only the last few hundred lines and is never sent anywhere. It is not shown in the app; it exists so that it can be read from the device, or sent along if you ask for help.

Permissions and why

Notifications: the warnings in the final phase, at the end and for the break. Alarms (iPhone): the counter on the lock screen that rings even on silent. Local network and Bluetooth: so the Mac and the iPhone show the same session, with encrypted messages that stay between the two devices. Background updates: so a device that is far from the other can be told that the session changed, through your own private iCloud database. Any permission can be denied; the matching feature then stays off.

If you choose to send your note to Todoist, Vistempo opens Todoist with the text you typed; from there Todoist's rules apply.

Report for your practitioner

The PDF report is produced on your device and leaves it only when you share it. It describes focus time you timed yourself; it is not a clinical instrument.

This is not a health product

Vistempo is a timer. It does not diagnose, does not treat and does not measure attention. The numbers it shows describe the use of a stopwatch and exist to support a conversation about your routine — with yourself or with a professional. No clinical decision should rest on them alone.

Vistempo Pro, and what the store tells us

Vistempo Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription that may include a free trial. Apple processes purchases, renewals and refund requests under the applicable App Store terms. StoreKit gives the app product prices, verified transactions and subscription status so it can grant access. Vistempo does not receive your card, bank details or billing address, and does not send transaction records to a developer server. Apple retains purchase records according to its own policies.

The free plan keeps every session

When a subscription ends, or when you never had one, the free plan shows you less — never keeps less. The history file goes on being written in full on your device, so the sessions beyond the free window are still there and appear again the day you subscribe. Nothing is deleted, moved or sent anywhere because of a payment.

Your data is yours

Your history files use CSV and JSON and can be copied or exported. To remove your data, first stop sync on all your devices, then remove local app data, any folders you selected, and Vistempo documents and app data in your Apple Account's iCloud storage settings. Deleting only the visible iCloud Drive folder or only the app may leave internal sync records, Mac app data, backups or exported files. Remove copies you kept or shared separately. We cannot access or erase your private iCloud data for you. Deleting the app or its data does not cancel a subscription or remove Apple's purchase records.
